"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionatte with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these."

- George Washington Carver

Character Counts! in
the Barrington Area

Mission Statement

Character Counts!SM in the Barrington Area is a coalition of organizations and individuals with a mission to establish an environment where all individuals personally embrace the principle that character counts at home, in school, in the workplace, in the faith community, and all civic programs and organizations. By consistently promoting the Six Pillars of Character SM – Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship, the coalition will help the community to learn a common language for these core ethical values which are critical for the well-being of our society.

Character Counts! in the Barrington Area will assist the community in character building by helping it in creating a solid foundation for character development and positive role modeling.

Meeting Time: We welcome newcomers to our Steering Committee meetings – we value your input, or just come to hear about what we are doing. We usually meet at the Barrington Village Hall at 9:15 a.m. on the second Friday of each month during the school year.
